Sustainability Meets the Runway: The 2nd Annual 1st Grade Trash Fashion Show

In honor of Earth Day, our 1st-grade transformed the cafeteria into a high-fashion runway for the 2nd Annual Trash Fashion Show! This beloved tradition challenges our young designers to rethink "rubbish" by creating entire outfits out of recycled materials. From newspaper capes and cardboard armor to plastic-bag gowns and bubble-wrap accessories, each ensemble was a vibrant reflection of the students' unique personalities. It was a spectacular way to combine environmental awareness with creative self-expression, proving that being eco-friendly never goes out of style.

The excitement reached a fever pitch this year as the 1st graders invited their Kindergarten buddies to sit front-row and cheer them on. As the "trash-ionistas" strutted down the runway, a panel of judges carefully observed the craftsmanship and flair of every student. Competition was fierce, but the judges were ultimately tasked with awarding honors in three special categories: Best Accessory, Most Creative, and Best Dressed. We are so proud of our Cougars for showing us that with a little imagination, what we usually toss in the trash can be turned into something truly spectacular!
