Thompson Instabooks Provides Library Books to Traditional and Remote Students

Students across the district may not be able to browse the shelves of the library while looking for their perfect next read, but the library is definitely not closed! Students at Thompson will be able to receive library books thanks to Thompson Instabooks.

Inspired by services like Instacart, where customers create grocery lists online and have their groceries delivered, Mrs. Wiggins, Thompson Librarian, created Thompson Instabooks.

Students, both traditional and remote, are able to visit the virtual library website and place books requests one of two ways. They can log into the library's online catalog and place a specific book on hold, or they can participate in the "Mystery Book" program, a personal favorite of Mrs. Wiggins!

Through "Mystery Books" students answer a few questions about books they love and genres they like to read. Mrs. Wiggins spends some time selecting two books to fit the customer's needs. It's a fun surprise to see which books are delivered to the student!

Thompson Instabooks delivers books to traditional students in their classrooms and to remote students during weekly pick up times. For more information on the program and instructions for students to place their online orders, please visit bit.ly/THO_ib
